Cheney, Rothschild, and Fox News’ Murdoch to Drill for Oil in Syria, Violating International Law

While Syria is torn apart by the warring of U.S. imperialists and Islamic fundamentalists—leaving its children to die of starvation—another country plans to take advantage of the chaos by stealing resources from Syria’s southern region. The theft will be carried out by the most notorious pushers of military hegemony, and they don’t care that it violates international law.

Genie Energy is an American-based oil and gas company with major investors and advisors comprising a who’s who list of war profiteers—Dick Cheney, Rupert Murdoch, Lord Jacob Rothschild, and James Woolsey. The president of their Israeli subsidiary is Efraim “Effi” Eitam, an Israeli military commander who called for expelling the “cancer” of Arabs from Israel.

Together, these warmongers and would-be ethnic cleansers will soon be drilling into a vast oil and gas reserve located in the Syrian territory occupied by Israel since 1967, known as Golan Heights. The move would be in clear violation of
international law, specifically the Annex to the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The human tragedy of Syria’s children These are some of the most heart-breaking images that Channel 4 News has broadcast in five years of the Syrian civil war. They show the human tragedy of young children in one of the darkest corners of the world.

Pat Mulligan As I write this… three of my children are safely tucked up in bed without a real care in the world. They are 3, 5 and 9. Two boys, and my youngest a girl. When I watched this report, i wept as i thought how my boys would react to their sister dying in this way… how my wife would react in the situation of Mohammed’s mother.

We are complicit in this crime. we have allowed this to happen…in OUR name. We export arms to the very countries who continue to disrupt and destroy Syria. When I watched this video I felt ashamed. Ashamed to be part of the problem, ashamed to have been so silent for so long and ashamed to have allowed the continual brainwashing of my countrymen to believe that these poor people are anything less than desperate refugees. They aren’t migrants, they aren’t looking for benefits or a house… they are seeking refuge. We have let them down.

The Debate – Netanyahu tells Putin: Golan Israel’s redline (April 21st)

Published on Apr 21, 2016

“The Zionist entity is exploiting the years of crisis in Syria.” It is hard to disagree with that statement of Ahmed Qattan, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador in Cairo & the kingdom’s envoy to the Arab League, in the wake of Netanyahu’s assertion that the Golan Heights will always remain a part of Israel. While it is Israel which has carried out attacks within Syrian territory & treats militants fighting there, Netanyahu & his supporters ironically claim Israel must hold on to the Golan for security purposes. The int’l community, however, has never accepted Israel’s illegal annexation of Syrian territory & has made its feeling clear in this regard. In this edition of the debate, we ask: is Israel exploiting the crisis in Syria?

China, Russia back MiddleEastQuartet efforts for Palestine-Israel peace

At a global meet in Paris, China and Russia have stressed on the primacy of the Middle East Quartet in assisting efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Beijing is willing to work closely with the UN to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in Paris, where the Middle East Peace Initiative ministerial conference was held on Friday.

Wang said China firmly supports the peace process in the Middle East, the two-state solution as the basis of the Palestinian question, the resumption of peace talks, and the role of the Middle East Quartet (the United Nations, the United States, the European Union and Russia).

A Russian envoy said the Quartet are “now finalizing the draft report on the developments in the Palestinian-Israeli settlement”.

On Friday, France hosted a meeting, attended by representatives of the UN, Arab League, the Middle East Quarter and foreign ministers from around 20 countries, aimed at finding ways to revive the peace process between two sides. South African Foreign Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and US Secretary of State John Kerry were among those in attendance.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov who is also Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy for the Middle East, attended the Paris meet.

Bogdanov warned that “we are fast approaching the point of no return”.

“The pause in the political dialogue between the parties is far too long. The two-state solution is jeopardized. Although it has not been removed from the agenda, the prospects of a just settlement on the internationally recognized legal basis are virtually fading away before our very eyes,” Bogdanov said.

Russia has also warned that the “divisions among the Palestinians” is an “impediment” to the peace process.

“Another negative factor impeding the peace process is the divisions among the Palestinians. This issue should be prioritized to ensure that the Palestinians are represented in the negotiations on the final status by a single united delegation,” Bogdanov said.

Earlier this year in January, Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for the establishment of a Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Beijing has said the Palestinian problem “should not be marginalised”.

“China supports the peaceful process in the Middle East [and] the establishment of a Palestinian state with its capital being eastern Jerusalem,” Xi said in Egypt.

Since October 1, Israeli forces or settlers have killed 200 Palestinians, including suspected terrorists, unarmed demonstrators and bystanders.

Meanwhile, at least 28 Israelis have been killed mostly in stabbing attacks.

The BRICS countries, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, have backed the two-state solution for the conflict at international forums including the UN.

A two-state solution implies the existence of the State of Israel and State of Palestine within pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital.

Earlier last month, Israel’s military said its aircrafts struck infrastructure in Gaza used by Hamas. These direct clashes between Hamas and Israeli forces broke out for the first time since a devastating 2014 war that killed at least 2,200, mostly Palestinians.

Gaza remains effectively occupied as Israel retains control of its air space, seafront and all vehicle access, blocking trade and free movement for the territory’s nearly two million residents.

The Russian envoy Bogdanov referred to these May air raids at the Paris meet on Friday.

“The exchange of strikes between Israel and Palestinians in Gaza earlier this May, the most intense since the conclusion of the cease-fire agreement in August 2014, is yet another confirmation of well-known thesis. It implies that without a sustainable solution to the enclave’s problems, without lifting its blockade and restoring its infrastructure destroyed by Israel, inter alia, in summer 2014, the recurrence of confrontation cannot be ruled out,” Bogdanov said.

Israeli Soldier Reveals 1948 Palestinian Genocide and Zionist Ideology of Ethnic Cleansing

Rabbi Elmer Berger – May 1989 Air date

Uploaded on Dec 11, 2008

Rabbi Elmer Berger – May 1989 Air date
Elmer Berger (May 27, 1908 – October 8, 1996) was a Jewish Reform rabbi widely known for his anti-Zionism. He was the executive director of the American Council for Judaism from its founding in 1943 until he resigned in 1968, at which time he founded American Jews for Alternatives to Zionism.

Berger was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of a Hungarian-born railroad engineer and a third generation German-American Jew born in Texas. As a boy his family attended the Euclid Avenue Temple where he was encouraged to study for the rabbinate by Rabbi Louis Wolsey. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Cincinnati, he was ordained by Hebrew Union College in 1932. He began his brief career in the ministry in Pontiac, Michigan before serving in Flint, Michigan from 1936 to 1942.

Berger married Seville Schwartz, the sister of a classmate at Hebrew Union College, in 1931. They divorced in 1946, and shortly thereafter he remarried to Ruth Winegarden, the daughter of a prominent furniture manufacturer who belonged to the Flint congregation. They were married until Ruth’s death in 1979.

From the beginning, Elmer Berger was squarely in the camp of those Reform rabbis who opposed the Columbus Platform of 1935 which modified the movement’s original anti-Zionism and rejection of traditional ritual. It was Berger’s mentor, Louis Wolsey, who would in 1942 issue a call to convene the American Council for Judaism, and who hired Berger as its first executive director. In the organization’s struggle against the founding of the State of Israel during the 1940s, Berger increasingly became the movement’s public face, particularly with the publication of his book The Jewish Dilemma in 1945, which argued that Zionism was a surrender to the Nazi racial myths about the Jews and that assimilationism was still the best path for the Jews in the modern world.

The founding of the State of Israel in 1948, which prompted the defection of Louis Wolsey, did little to slow the activities of Berger and the ACJ, who felt that their chief purpose was to combat the influence of Zionism in the religious life of American Jews. He continued to write and lecture on behalf of the ACJ, becoming its Executive Vice President. In this position he became increasingly well known and widely despised by the Zionist camp in American Judaism, particularly after he toured the broader Middle East in 1955 and became increasingly identified with Arab and Palestinian causes.

After the Six Day War in 1967, an event which swept what had previously been an arguably ambivalent American Jewish community with a massive pro-Israel fervor, Berger was widely pilloried, including by other members of the American Council for Judaism, for declaring Israel to be the principal aggressor in the conflict. This ultimately led to Berger’s resignation from the Council the following year, at which time he founded, with the support of some loyal friends, American Jews for Alternatives to Zionism, which was intended to serve only as his personal vehicle for writing and lecturing. This, he continued to do actively, although in a state of semi-retirement, splitting his time between New York and Sarasota, Florida.
Elmer Berger died in Sarasota of lung cancer at the age of 88. Among his direct legacies were his close involvement with the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs and his mentorship of the noted Middle East scholar Norton Mezvinsky.
